Julio Falvigna
Julio Gopala Falavigna is a musician's musician leaning towards percussion (Drum Kit and Indian Tabla) as means of composition and expression. A master, mesmerizing to watch and hear, Julio started playing at the age of 13 in Southern Brazil, professionally playing since age 18.
Julio hás lived, performed, recorded and toured in many different countries (Native Brazil, England, Germany, Austria, USA, France Canada and India) on the pursuit of both musical and personal apprenticeship. Living in Brazil for the last 10 years, He is a member of the Fabio Mentz Quarteto (2 cds) as well as an innovative Brazilian instrumental music ensemble.
As a Tabla player, He hás rendered accompaniment to classical World renown Indian musicians
G. S. Sachdev (Bansuri Flute), Singer Mukesh Desai and his own teacher , Sri Hanuman.
Currently residing in Rio, Julio hás Just finished (as a drummer and producer) a new recording with his wife, (pianist) Bianca Gismonti. His masterful execution of world ethnic rhythms and sound textures are explored further on a fresh projects for The Mandala Wizards and N-R-I.
